Ogres!

I'm not surprised there hasn't been any buzz about this as I'm sure most of us are smart enough to stay away from new operating systems until they mature. However, if anyone is having success or encountering obstacles using ISXOGRE in a Windows 10 environment please share. This will help others when choosing to upgrade or not. Cheers!

IS/ISXEQ2/ISXOgre have worked (unofficially) with windows 10 since the first Insider Preview released a long while back.

Only issues you are likely to run into are the permissions issues that people had with windows 8 and 8.1, the easiest workaround for those is installing IS anywhere outside of Program Files.

I've been using Windows 10 on one of my secondary computers since last weekend. So far ISXEQ2/Ogre seem to run smoother, eat up less resources + higher FPS. All three of my PC's have the same cpu/gpu but I did upgrade from 16 gigs to 32 gigs of mem with the Win 10 computer. I'll keep running them like this until after ToT at which point I'll likely upgrade the other two to Win10.

I've been w10 for last 2ish weeks on all my PCs. Been very happy with the upgrade, no issues except Advanced Combat Tracker stopped working (but I think I'm the only one!).

Saha,

A friend of mine always had those issues with Windows 8. Is it not as simple as adjusting the UAC slider like in Windows 7? I've always had a seperate SSD for everything EQ2 related, maybe this is why I don't have issues. I allow the install paths to remain default but change the drive letter to my EQ2 drive. Do you think this is why I've never run into UAC problems?

Eyedea,

That's awesome! I am really looking forward to upgrading now. I'll take any increase to FPS I can get. Right now I'm running two boxes:

1) ASUS X99-A/USB 3.1, i7-5930K @ 3.5GHz, 32GB, GeForce GTX 970
2) ASUS P9X79 PRO, i7-3970X @ 3.5GHz, 32GB, GeForce GTX 780

I just bought another GTX 970 for the second box, but benchmarks have shown the 780 to be very comparable. Likewise with the 3970X vs 5930K, although the 5930K has double the bus speed iirc. If the 970 doesn't improve my FPS then I'll suffer through the holidays until I can save to just rebuild with another X99.

Thanks for all the input everyone!

my guess is that both your 780 and 970 are running at ~20% capacity and a GPU upgrade won't do anything towards FPS.
