Tne crashing at launch

Tne crashing at launch

Postby Garp74 » 14 Dec 2014, 08:15

Hi!

Is there any work around for all the crashing when launching EQ2 from my Innerspace/ISX shortcut?

I normally click on my desktop shortcut 6 times to launch team 1. But these days I wait until it crashed 2 or 3 times before successfully launching IS1. Then I click 5 more times.

And let's not forget:

- click on shortcut 6 times
- often, one of the IS instances does not fully load and you have to force-quit it and reload

I do believe we have a work around, but it's a little complicated. So I'm going to see if I can rig something in the extension to do it. It hasn't been confirmed 100% it works, but so far it's looking promising.

When I patch ISXOgre (the extension) next, which will be patch 263 (or higher), it will include a change to how it handles a file we believe is causing the crash. However, once you are on 263, you will need then to patch Everquest2, then the next time you load isxogre, it should start using the new method.
While that probably sounds confusing, it'll probably happen like this for 99% of people.
ISXOgre gets updated.
Force patch day comes, they patch Everquest2
ISXOgre now starts using the new method.
